The Authority Has Built Seth Rollins as the Number 1 Heel In WWE Today

Seth Rollins is the crown jewel of The Authority, the man thought of by many fans as the future of WWE. The former architect of The Shield has been at the center of Triple H's group since he betrayed Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns in 2014, and it's obvious that The Authority has since built Rollins as the perfect heel in WWE.

Though some fans were likely doubtful of where the angle with Rollins would go when it began, popular opinion must surely have changed by now.  Enough time has passed and enough work has been done to establish Rollins as not only a great heel but a top heel, and that work continues even now.

Rollins is often in the main event on Monday Night Raw, while the commentary team often hails his talent and potential to be the top headliner during his matches.  Though he is a heel and as such can be the punch line to jokes from a star like John Cena, Rollins and his future are no laughing matter.

Rollins is often presented in a very positive light.  He wins many of his matches, he gets the last word on other Superstars he has feuded with in the past, and other than wear a championship belt, he has really done it all in a very short amount of time.

Rollins went from being the de facto leader of The Shield to being Mister Money in the Bank, the man with the key to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the palm of his hand.  He has worked in the main events on pay-per-views, and he has competed for the championship already.

He stood his ground against Brock Lesnar and lived to tell the tale.  There are many veteran WWE Superstars who cannot say that.

But Rollins' career is progressing as that of a budding main event star would.  And that means he must look as strong as he can and do it as often as possible.  This is where Rollins' association with The Authority has proved invaluable.

Triple H has helped construct Rollins into a player in WWE.  By merely sharing the same air as Triple H on a consistent basis, fans now view Rollins as a top guy.  The Game's influence has yielded some great results thus far, and the reality is that Rollins had much to do with it all working out to begin with.

After all, the best-laid plan means nothing if the man given the task to do it cannot pull it off.

Rollins could have crashed and burned within weeks of leaving The Shield.  His heart may not have been in it; his willingness to do something different may have been overshadowed by his fear of falling flat on his face.  But instead, Rollins worked hard and completely embraced the new role he was given to play.

He took to the change more easily than likely anyone expected.  The focus and intensity he showed as a Shield member morphed into ego and entitlement, two things he surely learned under Triple H's character.

He became the villain, and right now, there's arguably no one better at it.

His ring work has been outstanding, his mic work shows his cocky and overly confident personality, and his place as a true main event player is not in question.  But the reason it's all working is because he is such a good heel—top notch in every way.

Rollins is very easily hated and just seems to enjoy being a jerk.  He laughs and smiles at the crowd, mocking it for its lack of faith in him.  He criticizes other Superstars on the roster, and though he is constantly flanked by The Authority, he probably believes he can do it all without it.

Rollins is the textbook definition of a top heel.  There is just nothing redeeming about him at all, and every time he opens his mouth, he gives fans even less of a reason to believe that one day he could turnbabyface again.  

Rollins' character is in the perfect spot, and it's all thanks to the workThe Authority has done for him.

Being a good hand does not equate to relevancy in WWE.  But being featured in the faction led by Triple H himself has made all the difference.  Rollins has definitely benefited from Triple H's guidance, and it's entirely possible that fans will see him hoisting the industry's top championship above his head in the very near future.

All that's left now is for Rollins to cash in his briefcase and take home the GOLD.  And when he does that, his place as WWE's top heel will be firmly cemented.
